Michael (“Mick”) Fountain, President and CEO, Barthco International
Mick is a 36-year veteran of the global logistics industry, starting his career with Lep Air Services in the UK and moving to Jardine Air Cargo. Following the purchase of Jardine Air Cargo by MSAS, he assumed various management positions including President of US Operations, CEO Americas and CEO Americas/Pacific. When MSAS merged with Exel, Mick served as CEO Global Freight Management and Technology for the combined operations. Soon after this he was appointed as an Executive to Exel PLC’s Board and served in this capacity until the company was acquired by Deutsche Post. Mick is the Chairman of Cargo 2000 and a director of CNS, which is the North American Governance Group for the International Air Transport Association (IATA). He and his wife are strong supporters of the Down Syndrome League.
Lawrence R. Antonucci, President, Barthco Americas
Larry has overall responsibility for Barthco's strategic direction and operational execution in North, Central and South America and the Caribbean. Prior to becoming President of Barthco Americas, Larry was the founder and CEO of Freightek, Inc., an ASP provider for inbound logistics, global visibility, and import management. Before founding Freightek, Larry was the director of international trade for Answerthink Consulting Group. In his 20+ year logistics career, Antonucci also held corporate executive positions in sales, marketing and information systems at Barthco. He was responsible for the entire strategic design and implementation of Barthco's IT initiatives, both internal and customer focused, as well as all strategic sales and marketing initiatives for all of Barthco's service offerings. Larry has a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Temple University, he is a licensed customs broker and a certified customs specialist (CCS). Larry is based at Barthco’s headquarters office in Philadelphia.
John J. Hafferty, Jr., CFO of Ozburn-Hessey Logistics’ International Services group
John oversees the financial strategy of the supply chain management company’s international services division. Prior to joining OH Logistics, John was senior vice president of corporate strategy and development for Schenker Americas. He was instrumental in Schenker’s successful acquisition and integration of BAX Global Services. John also served in various senior-level positions at UPS, where he worked for 12 years. John enjoys coaching youth sports and works on community projects for various non-profit agencies. He has a B.S. in Business Administration from Kansas State University and is a CPA.
Charles ("Charlie") Cape, PhD, CIO of Barthco International
Charlie is a 37 year IT veteran with 15 years in the global logistics industry. He started his career with companies such as the Huntington Banks, Pan American Bank, MCCS and JD Edwards. His logistics experience includes such companies EXEL, DHL after its acquisition of EXEL and Cadre Technologies before joining Ozburn-Hessey Logistics. Charlie is a frequent speaker at conferences on a variety of topics concerning IT and its role in logistics. He has a B.A. from The Ohio State University, an M.A. from Webster and a PhD from Capella (Minnesota). Charlie is also a private pilot and member of AOPA. Besides aviation he also enjoys photography and is an ardent baseball fan for the Colorado Rockies.
Al Benki, Vice President, International Services
Prior to joining OH Logistics, Benki served as SVP, Global Sea Freight for Exel where he managed regional product leaders and carrier relationships within the Americas, Europe and Asia Pacific. Benki was also VP, Global Transportation Services for UPS Supply Chain Solutions, which acquired Fritz Companies in 2001. During his tenure at Fritz/UPS SCS, Benki managed both the Asia and Latin America regions before his involvement in the integrations of the Fritz Companies and Menlo into UPS Supply Chain Solutions. Benki also served in various capacities including President, North America, OOCL (USA) Inc., a leading global ocean carrier. Benki has a B. S. degree in Industrial Administration and Spanish from Iowa State University. He has worked in the US and abroad during his extensive supply chain management career.
Paul F. Muller, Senior Vice President, Air Product
Over the course of his 30+ year career in global logistics, Paul has held a variety of management positions and has been responsible for a number of key business functions, most notably air and ocean transportation (import, export, and foreign-to-foreign), marketing and business development. His current responsibilities at Barthco include leadership of the global air freight team, the oversight of the international air transportation operations, and the development, integration, and maintenance of the global network of offices and affiliates. Paul is based at Barthco’s headquarters office in Philadelphia.
Edward Piza, Senior Vice President, Ocean Product
Over the course of his 31 years’ experience in the logistics industry, Ed served as EVP, Sales and Marketing at Distribution Services, Ltd, where he was responsible for global business development and five regional VPs in the US and Latin America. Ed had also held VP positions at two other international transportation and logistics companies, he worked for the Port of Seattle and started his logistics career in rail transportation, as sales manager. Ed has a B.S. degree in business administration and marketing management from Manhattan College and M.S. degree in Transportation Management from the State University of New York. Ed is a member of the National Customs House Brokers and Freight Forwarders NVO Committee in Washington D.C. and member, with speaking engagements, at the Long Island Traffic Club. Ed is based at Barthco’s headquarters office in Philadelphia.
